My name is Sharon Hartman and I am a wife, mother and a certified yoga instructor.
My journey in life has lead me down a path of teaching people how to find inner and outer peace thru the practice of yoga and meditation.
I designed this site to help you grow as a person by connecting mind, body and soul.
So…Let Me Tell You A Little About Myself
I grew up on the east coast with 2 brothers and a sister. I was an incredibly shy child and was always fearful of what people thought of me. I was extremely uncomfortable in just about all social situations so I avoided them like the plague. It was a very debilitating feeling and I wished desperately that I could change. I never really lived life for me, as I was always wondering what people were thinking of me. I started to break out of my shell in the later years of high school.
During college and later when I entered the working world, I found myself being put into situations that forced me to confront my fears. It was extremely difficult, but I learned with each one, that I became a stronger and better person for having endured them.
I tell you this because I want you to know that my life was not always easy. It was completely different than it is now. I have learned over the years that life is a journey and sometimes we have to go through painful situations in order to grow. In fact, here is a couple of sentences from a recent book I read that pretty much, sums it up.
‘A primary purpose of life’s challenges is to show us how our thoughts and feelings create our reality. Challenges are mirrors that reflect to us our feelings about ourselves. In that sense, they are gifts. Wisdom allows us to recognize them as such’.
My Journey of Growth
Our lives are constantly teaching us lessons…its just a matter of whether we are open to seeing those lessons and learning from them. I didn’t get that until my later years. Now I look for every opportunity to grow myself in every direction. The growth and changes in myself that have occurred over the past ten years have been so incredible.
I know now that all of the experiences I went through, and continue to experience, whether good or bad, all happen for a reason. The foundation was being laid down for where my journey has taken me, and I look forward to each new day so I can experience where life will take me next.
My Journey Continues
For over 20 years, I have been involved with health, nutrition and exercise.
My desire for continued self growth paired with the need to find inner peace, lead me down the path to practice yoga. Becoming passionate in helping others experience the inner peace that I found on, and off the mat, led me to becoming a Certified Yoga Instructor.
I am a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance and I’m certified at the 200-hr level. I received my certification thru Long Island Yoga School (RYS) in Great Neck, under the guidance of Laurie Ahlemann.
Because of the path that I have chosen, and seeing what life has to offer, I want to share it all, with each and every person. I want to heal the world, one person at a time.
One of the greatest joys in life is giving someone the seeds and watching them grow and blossom.
Everyone has the power to change, whatever the situation may be, and each of of us deserves to live a life of greatness and happiness.
Everything in life happens for a reason, there are no accidents. Its all about how you handle those situations. You see, everyone has choices in life. You have the choice to learn and grow from your challenges or, you can let the fear of those challenges control you and stay stuck exactly where you are.
Lets Grow Together
Yoga gives you the awareness of your body and mind and at the same time, helps you find balance. As you continue to find balance on the mat, it trains your consciousness to find balance off the mat into your daily life.
I hope you make the choice to kiss your challenges on the nose, whatever they may be, learn to grow from them, and find more balance in your life. You will be all the more better of a person.
