Hey There, Welcome back! If you enjoy this post, be sure you subscribe to my newsletter to get all my blog posts delivered straight to your inbox.
I had the privilege of meeting one of the most life changing speakers by the name of Erik Weihenmayer. I had never heard of him before but I will remember him always because…
… from that day forward, my life was forever changed!
He was a guest speaker at one of my MLM companies National Training Conventions. I feel so very fortunate in the fact that the company I choose to join some years ago, is a HUGE proponent of personal growth.
In fact…
…I am forever grateful as it shaped me into the person I am today.
You see, Erik Weihenmayer was faced with 2 of the most unimaginable adversities a person would have to face in a lifetime. Due to a rare eye disease, he lost his sight at age 12 and, around that same time, he lost his mom. He and his dad developed this incredible bond that you could just feel, and he was there every step of the way with Erik.
As myself and 1000′s of others sat there and listened, there was not a dry eye in the house.
He continued to speak about his life and all the challenges he had come to meet. You could have heard a pin drop in that huge hall as everyone sat in amazement and listened to all that he had accomplished.
One of his greatest challenges and passions in life…
is mountain climbing.
He began showing pictures of his expeditions and telling stories of each. He had scaled 7 of the most challenging peaks in the world…
…McKinley in 1995, Kilimanjaro in 1997, Aconcagua in 2000, Vinson Massif in 2001, Everest in 2001, Elbrus in 2002, and Kosciusko in 2002.
As I was watching and listening, I couldn’t help but feel ashamed of myself, of the challenges (in both life and business), that I had complained about, to this point.
Here was a man that had every reason to feel sorry for himself, but instead of doing so, choose to turn his adversities into victories and help others that can’t seem to get out of their own way.
I would like to share a short video of Erik Weihenmayer and I hope he inspires you as much as he has inspired me…

Thanks for letting us share the inspiration that Erik offers.
Maybe instead of focusing on little challenges to little goals, we need to establish ground-shaking goals with far bigger challenges. The accomplishment process is the same, so you might as well accomplish really, really big things… rather than work just as hard to accomplish really little ones.

Amazing story, Sharon!
This is when we ask ourselves… Are we really giving our 100%? Guys like Erik make us think about how we are using the gifts we have.
There’s another great man with an amazing story and a great message! Have you heard about Nick Vujicic? If you don’t, watch this video!

Wow Sharon,
This is a great example to remind us that we should be grateful for what we do have instead of fussing about what we perceive we don’t have.
You can look at any problem as a challenge or as a life-stopping issue. Your choice!
What a moving and inspirational story. Thanks so much for sharing!

Absolutely Val!
I know we are all guilty at one time or another of fussing about what we don’t have instead
of what we do have and people like Eric keep us in check.
Happy to have shared it with you.

Sharon
