Don’t Judge a Book By Its Cover?

Spirituality

You know when you come across things in life that just move you?  Well, this is one of them.  My brother shared this amazing video with me and I, in turn, want to share it with all of you.

It has to do with recognizing the 3 types of friends we all encounter in our lifetime.  Its about seeing the character of a person and not getting fooled by whats on the outside.

You know the saying…

‘Don’t judge a book by its cover’.

Well, this video takes that saying to a whole new level.

You may want to watch it a few times to really grasp the message.  Its so powerful and oh so true.

After you watch it, really think about the people that you have in your life…

…are they feeding you energy or…

… are you feeding them and then, in the end…

…you’re left feeling completely drained?

I believe we also run into the same types of people in business.

There is a personal to business connection that can be applied here because we are all searching for mentors in life to ‘feed us’ and some of those mentors may even lead us to a path of greatness.

But, there are too many people out there that are in disguise just looking to take you for a ride.  Don’t be fooled…

Watch the video now and definitely leave me your comments and thoughts on this one!

    Hi Yossi,
That was my reaction too! We all need to be careful who we let into our lives, most people are just out
for themselves as he points out.

    Love the post, Sharon.

Such an important message. We have to look carefully at who we include in our energy circle… and keep it honest and true. But that requires a housecleaning from time to time too, and that’s not always easy. In fact, it never is.

Blessings in Faith and Hope. We’ve missed you!

    Hey David,

We definitely have to look very carefully at who we let in. Some time ago, I had to do some housecleaning,
thought it was not easy, but made a huge difference in my life.

    Sharon

    Sharon,

    no words, my friend.

He says things that we all have realized somehow, but we never formulated it to ourselves.

I know who my friends are and usually reflect on how lucky I am for having these people that you probably almost never see nor hear from, but YOU KNOW they are there.

And exactly, we are talking about 2 or 3 persons in your whole life and sometimes they are not the ones that will flatter you 24 hours a day, but they are the ones that make you.

Thanks a lot. This should make us think also what kind of friend we are for the others. Not only what kind of friends they are for us….

    Hi Omar,
Most people don’t want to accept what is. Like he states, if we have 2 or 3 ‘confidants’ in our lifetime,
we should consider ourselves very lucky.

You are so right about us taking the time to reflect on what kind of friend we for others.

Everyday, people make assumptions of other things based solely on appearance. From simple things such as grocery items in a supermarket, to more complex decisions, such as choosing a person we want to spend our lives with.

people make these decisions on the appearance of these things. We choose these things because, on the outside, they appear flawless. And some seem to think, if the outside is flawless, then the rest must be perfect as well.

But as with anything in life, what is on the outside isn’t always what is most important. A perfect can of vegetables in the supermarket may taste bad, a book with an exciting picture may be boring, and a woman with a Barbie figure may not be your best choice for a wife. In short, looks are not always the most important thing.

    Very insightful and true.

Whats on the outside isn’t necessarily an indication of whats on the inside…of anything!

    Thanks for sharing.
