Hey There, Welcome back! If you enjoy this post, be sure you subscribe to my newsletter to get all my blog posts delivered straight to your inbox.
‘How determind are you in making things happen in your life ?’ Be honest with yourself.
It can be anything from a single goal, to maybe a lifestyle you are looking to achieve. Are there things you want to accomplish in life, but when the going gets a little too tough, do you simply.. give up?
I want to share this post about determination, because thats what you need to be if you want to be successful. It doesn’t really matter what you want to achieve …
…what does matter is that you are in it for the long haul. Being determined helps you become better equipped to overcome the obstacles you’re going to be faced with and,
…makes you be better able to handle the people that will try to steal, or squash your dreams …(we call them dream stealers and there are lots of them).
From time to time, I like to share where the inspiration came from for my post. The inspiration for this post…a video that my husband recorded of our 12 year old daughter, Samantha.
She had no fear of falling, nor did she care how many times she fell or who saw her fall. Her focus and determination was …
…learning to ride a unicycle.
In business, if you are determined, there must be no fear of falling…
…for when you do fall, you must get back up and try again.
Let me just tell you, she can teach us all a little bit about determination. When she gets her mind set on something…there is no stopping her. And thats how you need to become. I don’t mean you should trample over people or step on toes to get what you want…but in your mind, be determined to achieve what it is you’re seeking. Don’t let anything or anyone steer you away or tell you otherwise.
If you’re just beginning a new venture and don’t know where to turn, seek out the information needed to help guide you, don’t sit and wait for it to magically appear.
My daughter was determined to learn how to ride a unicycle, she didn’t sit around waiting for someone to teach her or cry about how she ‘can’t’!…
…and look at her now…she’s riding a ‘5 foot’ unicycle!
A little word of advice…don’t use the word ‘can’t’ in a sentence without it being followed by the word ‘right now’!
You can have the same determination, you just have to set you mind to it!
After you watch this video, you might feel a little silly about some of the things you threw your hands up in the air about and said, ‘I can’t do this… it’s too hard’
Enjoy this short video!
Always remember, if you think you can or you think you can’t, either way…your right!
So how did you like the video? What kind of thinker are you?? Please leave any comments, questions, or feedback for me below.

Hi Sharon,
Great topic. And soo, sooo, soooo true. How many of us want something but by no means do much about it… With many of the reasons you have mentioned. we should take some lessons from young people, like your daughter, who when they want something do ahead despite the challenge. As parents we also have to make sure that we support our children’s decisions and not ‘hinder’ them to ‘not go for their dreams” which I think is a big part of why many of us as adults don’t do what we want because through our years we have listened to too many other people and what “they think”. Great post!

Hey Holly,
Taking action is the first step to achieving what ever it is in life that we want to achieve!
Keep taking action and sharing all that you do!

The first thing that comes to mind is that I can’t get my comment luv button to link back to my blog posts. I mean, I can’t YET.
Thanks for reminding me.
Funny too, thinking about how people try to take you off your track with negative comments and “advice”… Just don’t listen to them. But I know my biggest negative critic is my own mind. I know I could not listen to it, but it’s still there, so I’m learning to educate it instead. Every time it gives me a negative thought, I artfully rephrase it into a positive. So when it tells me “you can’t achieve that… you never have and never will, so stop trying”, I patiently instruct it that “I will achieve it, so I will never stop taking the action required to make it happen”.
It’s a process but, hey, pretty soon I’ll be doing my blog posts from my unicycle!
Thanks for the good news Sharon… You’re right…I can!

Hey David,
Hope all works out with your comment luv issue:)
You are not alone…we are ALL our own worst enemies. Just keep reprograming your mind to be positive and soon it will become automatic!
Can’t wait to see you doing your blog posts from a unicycle!! LOL! Now that would surely gain attention!

This is super inspirational, Sharon!
Your daughter is simply Awesome! Now that’s super determined; not caring about what others may think of you is the perfect frame of mind.
With that said….
“Life’s real failure is when you do not realize how close you were to success when you gave up.”
Those dream stealers better know that they’ve got their work cut out for them!
