I choose to write a post about this topic because it is such an important part to our success…
…whether it be in life or business.
This is a short post with a strong message, and I’m blessed to be writing this from beautiful, sunny Aruba.
As I was lying in a lounge chair staring at the incredible ocean, I got lost in my thoughts. I started to reflect on things that are going on in my life and I want to suggest you do the same.
I’m not saying to fly to Aruba, what I am saying is take some time when you need to and go find a place where you can be alone, relax and let your mind be free.
Maybe go sit by the beach or a lake…
…or something as simple as going to the park and listening to the birds talking can do incredible things for the soul.
As you move forward, lifes challenges can be so draining, and part of being successful means knowing when to step back, take a break and…
…re-charge your mind, body, and soul.
Certain things that weren’t clear before, will suddenly become crystal clear. If you are struggling at a crossroad in your life, learning to quiet your mind and really listen to what it is telling you…
… you will find an answer.
We all make sure that we re-charge our cell phones, our ipads, our computers, or what ever it is that keeps us connected, don’t we?
Why not our minds?
How far would you get if you didn’t take time to put gas in your car or have it serviced from time to time?
Well, the same is true for our minds!
Find peace within yourself and learn that it’s OK to take a break once in a while.
Now don’t take this as advice to run away from your problems, it’s quite the contrary.
Learning to take some time for yourself will make you better equipped at handling all that life throws at you.
You will come back with more clarity, and more energy than you had before ready to take on life.
I would love to hear about how you recharge so leave me a comment below.
Also…
…be sure to help me share this message!
To ReCharging our Mind, Body and Soul!

Great message. It is so vital for your health, energy and focus to take time out to recharge. I every night make sure that i spend 20 minutes meditating. Without this simple process i wouldn’t achieve half of what I do

Hi Larry,
You are so right, recharging IS so vital for our health in so many ways. Something so simple (yet seems so hard to do) as carving out a few minutes a day can make a world of difference. I too, practice meditating. I’m hoping to help as many people as I can, find inner peace and recharge their mind, body and soul, as I am currently pursuing my certification in becoming a yoga instructor.
Regards,
Sharon

Great Post Sharon, It is so easy as an entrepreneur to forget about caring for ourselves and work, work, work. Our minds need the relaxation and opportunity to just let our thoughts flow. Meditation is daily practice for me to re-charge my batteries. Maybe I will work on meditating that I am in Aruba!

I always make to to recharge my mind body and soul by going to the gym, studying personal development and taking time out at the beach or harbour.

Absolutely spot on, Sharon!
I always remember a running coach I once had advising that it’s precisely when you “don’t have time” to exercise, that you need to exercise most of all.
Same here. Too busy to work on yourself? Then that’s got to become your top priority. Good stuff, Sharon.

Thank you for sharing Sharon.
Meditation, deep breathing and visualization are the practices that make me feel better. They always work, no exception.
Walking near the river and basking on the beach are among the other practice that I use to relax.
Gratefully,
Francesco

Sharon,
Definitely a great idea to recharge and regroup ourselves. I find when my mind gets cluttered and muddy, getting outside does wonders. The open spaces allow me to release the energies to the elements and find balance in the thoughts I hold close.
I’ve done this ever since I was a kid. Nature draws me to come and be in the moment, letting everything else go.
Perfect timing,
Val

Thanks Sharon,
This is a hard lesson for me, I usually don’t stop until I HAVE to because my energy is so limited due to Fibromyalgia & Chronic Fatigue. I feel like I’m always behind everyone else, but this is very wise advice & I need to remember it

I sympathize with you…manageing your business and illness has got to be tough. Maybe try taking a break when you are feeling good and reflecting on everything. Then you will be able to focus on things other than not feeling well. And maybe it will give you alittle more energy to push through?

Perfect “charging” Sharon!
Nothing like places connected to nature to re discover ourselves…
As you say, to take the time to reconnect ourselves to the important principles that move us, is like “feeding” the engine of our intentions.
Thanks a lot for your insights!

Yes Omar,
We must constantly keep feeding our engines…otherwise we will ‘burn’ out. As important as it is for us to take ‘action’, its just as important to take a break.

Hi Sharon,
Step back and relax is a must from time to time, specially if you are really busy. Our mind and body need to drain all the toxins, so unplug as Donna says is the better option
I’m glad you are back.
Cheers

Hi Raisa,
Taking time to drain the toxins from our minds and body is so important…and unplugging from the outside world is so good for our health.
Glad to be back

Hola Sharon!
I agree with you! Once in a while we need to take a breath and recharge our energy! It’s also a time to think about our lives, our business, our stuff in general… and it’s really helpful to get more focused in order to reach our goals!
Nice to have you back!

Hi Sharon!
The good that you had a good time in Aruba
That good that experienced renewed energy and air exchange both claim the body.
Like eating or sleeping, rest is an essential biological need and mental after long hours of work. The body needs to disconnect from the routine and take a joke it is not advisable to postpone or change economic incentives.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful photo ..

Thanks Magali,
Rest is definately an essential mental and physical need. Alot of people don’t take a moment to stop and that eventually leads to burnout or possible health issues.
Glad you enjoyed the photo…what an amazing place!

Sharon, I’m happy that you’re back. I hope you had a great time in Aruba! How fun that must have been! I wholeheartedly agree with your statements here. Taking time to recharge will do someone more good than almost anything else they can do. I know it helps me. Thanks for sharing. When are the pictures going to be available? :O)

Hi Sharon, Happy to hear you are enjoying Aruba! I did the same as you during the weekend of July 4. I actually found myself unplugged for four days. We all know what that is like. First, anxiety, then guilt – but I needed to step back, in the midst of all I was doing and just reflect.
I too found things crystal clear. This is why we need vacations. To get away from it all. To unplug. I even shut the cell off. I live in the middle of “vacation land” so I joined the tourists and swam in the natural waters. At one point, early in the morning, I was at a crossroad in my thoughts. I was sitting by the waterfalls and keeping in tune with the flow. All at once a Blue Heron flew right near me. (they are pretty big) I stared at him as he flew onto a rock that trickled water on him from the falls. Message: Rebirth. That’s when things came crystal clear for me.
Anyone reading this post, I urge you to take out the time and re-adjust things.
Thanks Sharon for bringing up this important part of growth.

Hi Donna,
Glad to hear you were able to ‘unplug for a few days!! I know, the guilt is alittle hard to get past sometimes, but we have to do it and we will be all the better for having taken a break. Just shutting of the cell phones can do wonders for the mind!
What a great message you received. And just think, if you kept going, didn’t take a break, you might still be struggling with your decision and would have missed that amazing message!!
Thanks for sharing Donna
