My friend David A. Haines shared a video he found on a friends blog and I want to do the same. The subject is about enjoying and being happy with the simple things in life. I found it so incredibly inspiring and felt an overwhelming need to share it with all of you. Please take a moment and watch the video at the end of this post. It just might change how you view life.
The video is called ‘ Life Is Like A Cup Of Coffee’
It tells of a very wise professor and his analogy of how life is like a cup of coffee…and let me tell you, it will make each one of you who watch it, rethink your priorities.
I believe…
…if we can be completely content with the simple things in life, we will then be able to appreciate much more, the finer things in life if we are blessed to have them sent our way. When we are content, we will not feel a need to have a bigger house, more expensive cars or whatever other materialistic things we think we must chase after to feel more successful. Just appreciate what you have now and you then will gain a new appreciation for …
…the special gifts you may be blessed with in the future.
Its all about having an attitude of gratitude and the universe will extend its hand to help those that help themselves…
So ask yourself…
…do you really enjoy the simple things in life?
Please share this, using the social buttons, so others can learn from its powerful message!
Be sure to leave me a comment and let me know if you found this video as inspiring as I did.

Thank you for sharing Sharon.
Here’s a little excerpt from my new book “I choose to feel good” which really vibes with this.
In this passages, I describe how I enjoy a “conscious” breakfast.
“…I head over to the stove and grab coffee, still steaming. I put it on the table. I breathe deeply and I enjoy the smell of coffee, which to me means even more of good coffee. I begin to heat the milk in a pot of metal, yawning lazily. I grab the toaster, and I take the toasted bread, perfectly crispy and give it a bite savoring quality. I put the bread on a plate and put it on the table.
I go back to the stove to stay and watch the flame that heats the pan, appreciating the contrast between the white milk and the pot’s edges. I take a spoon and taste a bit ‘of milk, and I find that it is perfectly warm…I open the jar of strawberry jam and savor the smell. Slowly, I begin to spread a bit ‘on my toast, not before it’s coated with butter. I bring bread to my mouth and start chewing it slowly. I decided to eat slowly, to enjoy every single second. I focus all of my attention on food quality…”
Awareness is a daily practice and I feel like there are not “little” things. Every experience can be fulfilling, even making your room tidy, if you put it in the right perspective.

I love the excerpt you share. As simple as it is, eating breakfast, we must all get into the practice of experiencing life…
…in all respects.
Everyone is so busy that they miss out on the simple pleasures in life, which sometimes, tend to bring us the greatest joys!
Thanks for sharing Francesco

Hi Sharon!
that simplicity is not a simple one since the capacity of recognizing it comes with a deep knowledge of ourselves.
Thanks a lot for reminding us!

The best things in life certainly are free… just like the most profound truths are best understood by children.
You will always find the greatest value in the simplest things.
Thanks for this heartfelt message, Sharon.

Hi Sharon,
Excelent video!, I liked it very much. Sometimes we complicate things and forget to enjoy the smallest things and when something terrible happens we understand that we needed to forget “the cup and care about the coffee”
Thanks for reminding this

We sure do complicate things and quite often I may add. I believe from time to time we experience things that really put our priorities in order. Thanks for sharing!

So true, people are so caught up in chasing what they think is happiness and forget the greatest joys that simple things bring.

The simple things in life really are the best.
